Established in 1963 with three engineering branches namely Civil, Mechanical and Electrical, today RVCE offers 12 Under Graduate Engineering programmes, 16 Master Degree programmes and Doctoral Studies. Sprawling campus spread over an area of 16.85 acres set in sylvan surroundings. Provides an ideal ambience to stimulate the teaching-learning process, helping in bringing out skilled and disciplined Engineers. Rated one amongst the top ten self-financing Engineering Institutions in the country. Current annual student intake for Undergraduate Programmes & Post Graduate Programmes in Engineering is in excess of 1200. Highly qualified and dedicated faculty. Utilizes its expertise in various disciplines to conduct Research and Development for Industry and Defense establishments in the country.
The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 1963 with the UG program (B.E.in Civil Engineering) and is one of the oldest branches of RVCE. The department has been imparting quality education to meet the technological advancement and industrial requirements. The present intake for the undergraduate program is 120 and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University(VTU) Belagavi with an Autonomous status. The department started two PG programs under VTU in Structural Engineering and Highway Technology in the year 2006 and 2009 respectively with a total intake of 36 students. The department is also involved in research and development and is a recognized research centre under VTU. B.E in Civil Engineering program is accredited by NBA. PG Highway technology and PG Structural Engineering programmes have also been accredited by NBA.
The Department is involved in R&D work, offers consultancy services and conduct training programmes for industry and government organizations. Students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Industry Institute interaction is nurtured by organizing and coordinating frequent industrial visits, Expert Lectures, Seminars.Reputed companies like L&T ECC, Shapoorji Pallonji, Brigade Group, Atkins, Total Environment, Tata Consulting engineers, Cognizant Technologies, Accenture recruit students of the department.
The objective of this conference to provide a platform for academicians and researchers to exchange and share their knowledge, experiences and research results on all aspects of Civil Engineering applications. It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions. Prospective authors are kindly encouraged to contribute to and help shape the conference through submissions of their research abstracts, papers and e-posters. Also, high quality research contributions describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, constructive, empirical, experimental, or theoretical work in all areas of Civil Engineering are cordially invited for presentation at the conference. The conference solicits contributions of abstracts, papers and e-posters that address themes and topics of the conference, including figures, tables and references of novel research materials.
